Configuration of appliance with bond interface

Symptom

Bond interface enables 2 or more interfaces (called slaves) to act as one, providing redundancy and possibly increasing the bandwidth.
AccAD appliance does not configure bond interface because of very customized set-up of such interfaces.

Other terms

AccAD, AAD, appliance, bond

Solution

Customers are responsible for configuration of the bond interface and defining its slave physical interfaces.
Then AccAD network settings and the instance virtual ip range should be configured with the correspondent bond virtual interface (where you would usually enter eth0, eth1, etc enter the bond interface).
In this case the actual configuration of the interface is not changed (including the gateway and subnet settings), while virtual IP addresses are added to the bond interface and not to the physical interface.
WARNING: Defining slave interface (eg. eth0) instead of master interface (eg. bond) in AccAD configuration may lead to connectivity and routing problems.
