SAP EP – Netweaver Portal

Symptom
When a Application Integration transaction iView is configured to SSF (SAP Shortcut File) launched using IE7, a pop up appears that bear the following message :

There is a note from Microsoft about IE7 changes: (http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/aa740486.aspx)
window.opener and window.close Internet Explorer 7 no longer allows the window.opener trick to bypass the window.close prompt. Browser
windows cannot close themselves unless the windows were created in script. This security enhancement no longer allows browsing to a random
site when the main browser window closes unexpectedly.
Issue is not reproducible for IE6 and for firefox browser and not always occur on IE7.

Reason and Prerequisites
One of these portal versions is installed:
SAP NetWeaver 7.00 SP18 and below
SAP NetWeaver 7.01 SP03 and below
Transaction IView is launched via SSF technique (sap shortcut file) on IE7.
Solution
The issue has been fixed for:
SAP NetWeaver 7.00 SP19 and above
SAP NetWeaver 7.01 SP04 and above
As a workaround you can launch the transaction iView using WebGui or WinGui SSD techniques.
