When an iView is loading you do not see the loading animation. The iView looks like it is collapsed until the iView finishes loading and the content appears.

Prerequisites:
The following version is being used: NW04s- SP17 onward, EhP1, EhP2.
The iView is in URL ‘isolation mode’ and the ‘height type’ is automatic height.
Reasons:
A bug fix was included in SP17 allowing adjustment of the iView`s height when the content is small. When the iView finishes to load, the iView is resized to its content height. Since the height of the iView was initially small, the loading animation is not visible.

Solution

Workaround:
In order to see the loading animation you need to set up a minimum height size for the iView . In this case the iView will be created in this minimum height and will grow to the actual size when the iView finishes loading.
The side effect of this workaround is that the iView will not adjust to height that is lower than the minimum height configured (If the content height is lower than the minimum height the iView will remain in the original height and a gray area will fill the remaining area).
In order to set a minimum automatic height:
1. Open the property editor of the iView (if you wish it to hold for all the iViews from the same type, open the template iView).
2. Open category – “appearance – size”.
3. Set the height of the property “Minimum Automatic Height (Pixels)” to at least 150 .
4. Save.
