NW04s SPS07 Universal Worklist
New Feature:
Added the configuration wizard which can be used to perform the standard UWL configuration using a webdynpro based wizard,
instead of having to manually change the xmlconfiguration files.
Following configurations can be performed using the wizard:
Define custom attributes for a task ID. If the task ID already exists in one of configuration files, the custom attributes for that task ID is updated. Otherwise a new configuration is created (whose name is provided by the user) and the user specifies the new task ID. If the task ID exists in the backend and if custom attributes can be fetched from back end(attributes are fetched only for ABAP BOR), they are fetched and populated. If custom attributes cannot be fetched from the backend, the user has to define each of the attributes manually.Define default launcher when an item type is clicked. Once
again, to define the default action launcher, the user has to
select one of the existing task IDs or define a new one.
Currently the user is able to define one of the following
launchers: iview launcher, UWL detail view launcher, object
based navigation, launcher for SAP application, launcher to
launch a webdynpro page.
Customize the look and feel for the main UWL page. Under this
selection, the user is able to define which tabs should be
displayed for the end user and which entries should be shown
for each of the tabs. The user can also select the order of
the tabs. A user can also add a new tab. Additionally, a user
can customize the view for each of the drop down entries.
Business webflow task action should be triggered in new window
without portal frame by default. This can be configured via
property . New value “portal” is introduced
for opening new window with portal frame.
Expanded workflow log data available for business workflow task.Layout format is enhanced to display these additional information and the integration of the sub process logs (if any) from AdHoc Request.Besides uploading file as attachment, end user can write memo and submit it for the business workflow task. This option is not displayed by default, but can be enabled by adding predefined action reference to the desired item type of business workflow task, e.g. uwl.task.webflow.decision.xxxx, uwl.task.webflow.TSxxxx. Additional link ‘Add Memo’ will be available under the section ‘You can also’.Expanded ivew properties to allow users to hide certain display attributes (”List of Display Attribute to exclude from Preview/Detail area”), hide entire sections (”List of preview sections to hide”) and to show empty display attributes(”Indicate if the Display Attribute labels should be displayed when data is empty”).

Fixed Issues:

Pending sub process information survives after UWL cache is cleared.Invalid user information (user executing the business workflow task) displayed in the history log data is fixed.For some special file attachment (not common, created programmatically), file data is not standard such as empty file name, mismatched mime type and data content. UWL is not able to display the attachment data correctly, e.g. file name displayed as “&SO_FORMAT…” or empty content. A solution has been provided to retrieve data appropriately.Manage attachment support for business workflow task updated:Object attachment is not allowed to be removedMemo notes is no longer included in the list under attachment managementRemove action is disabled for empty attachment list

Known Issues:

The effects for the customization take place only after the end user logs in the next time.Custom attributes support only ABAP_COR or Webflow. If some other source is required, the configuration has to be changed manually.

Fixes:
Systems defined in Portal System Landscape using “SAP system using dedicated application server” or “SAP system using connection string” templates cannot be registered with the UWL. An exception “System alias not found in portal system landscape” is thrown. As a workaround, the system has to be redefined using “SAP system with load balancing” template. Fixed in SPS6.In Alerts view clicking on “Assign to me” button results in “Unknown Action” error. Fixed in SPS06.Clicking on the Notification tab displays items initially, but after some time (around 4 or 5 minutes), all the items may disappear randomly from the table. Current workaround: performing refresh through the action menu will cause the items to reappear. Fixed in SPS06 release.

Enhancements:

Alerts activities, except CRM Object Links, open by default in a new window. Also, can be configured to be launched in place.

Enhancements:
Items are retrieved in the background thread when user logs in to the worklist. This improves the performance.Added support for the CRM Object Link as an activity for alerts.Some basic workflow log data of business workflow task is available via the link ‘View History’.

Fixed Issues:
Number of Alerts in the users worklist is displayed as soon as user logs in. Earlier this was displayed only when Alert tab was clicked.Action for CRM object link should be triggered in new window with portal frame to enable appropriate portal navigation.

Known Issues:

Enhancements:
Alerts activities, except CRM Object Links, open by default in a new window. Also, can be configured to be launched in place.Besides the basic workflow log data of business workflow task, it is also integrated with workflow log data of sub processes (if any) from Ad Hoc Request, available via the link ‘View History’.Finetune the behavior for triggering business workflow task action in new window without portal frame except that for CRM object link navigation(new window with portal frame).

Fixed Issues:
Redundant log data (such as duplicate or empty data) of business workflow task is trimmed under ‘View History’.

Known Issues:
Pending sub process information is lost after the UWL cache is cleared. Actions on the parent business workflow task are no longer disabled.It consistently takes a long time (at least 30 seconds) to load up the UWL at the first attempt. Subsequent actions in UWL behaves fine. This is a problem when detecting existence of substitution defintion. Fixed in SPS08.

Known Issues:

Other types behave ok (request, completed). Items can be retrieved from template UWL->Work as a workaround. Fix is provided in SP08.Business webflow task action not triggered in new window by default. Workaround is to configure the predefined ‘webflowBaseAction’ in ‘uwl.webflow.xml’ from using action attribute ‘launchInNewWindow’ to using property ‘openInNewWindow’. Enhancements
Configuration wizard:Once the custom attributes are configured, the user can select which systems the task ID refers to. Different systems can have different business object definitions for a task ID, therefore the user should be able to specify the system ID. The user can also choose to make it system independent.While defining action launchers users can add additional dynamic properties.Added SWFVISU support for BSP launcher.Object display can also be configured via SWFVISU for all visualization types, including the new option ‘NONE’ and BSP launcher. Option ‘NONE’ will suppress the display of the object. Note that this option is only for the object level and is ignored for the task level.Added support for the memo upload for user decision items. Also a decision alternative can be configured to make the memo mandatory.

Fixed Issues:
Changes in processor value of business workflow item are now reflected in UWL.Items can now be retrieved under customized view that supports specific business webflow task, like “uwl.task.webflow.TSxxxx”.Manage attachment support for business workflow task updated:Required reading attachment is included back to the list . This type of attachment as well as attachment created by other users are not allowed to be removed.When connecting to a 640 or older SAP system, provided that SAP system timezone value is valid and retrieved successfully, incorrect conversion of time value between the Business Workplace and UWL no longer exists.Fixed random resetting of the system configuration properties to the KM Config properties.Fixed a null pointer exception when an action is performed and the action is no longer valid for the item.Fixed Security Exception accessing the admin page, even when user has adminstrator role.Business workflow item (normally defined with the requirement of ‘manual confirmation’) displayed with status ‘Executed’ in UWL now has the action button ‘Complete’ available. This action has been absent in the previous releases.The bad performance in the initial loading of UWL list is no longer a problem. The issue was the time required to detect the existence of substitution definition.

Enhancements:
Keeping the item count up to date:New tag has been added to the DTD to specify if a NavigationNode should always keep the item count updated even if not selectedSystem configuration groups are also taken into account for substitution. When configuration groups are defined, only eligible systems are connected and displayed for subsitution definition. This feature will not work if the user has personalized UWL view before the upgrade to this SP. The UWL personalization has to be reset to default to enable the feature. Subsequent personalization is possible.Added support for DYNAPARAM from SWFVISU for iView launcher. This corresponds to iViewDynamicParameter parameter for the xml configuration of the iView launcher.Added OkCode to SAPTransactionLauncher.Added validation for the system alias field in the UWL system configuration to be maximum 25 characters.Added UI configuration support for substitution via UWL iView properties: “Display Create/Delete buttons”, “Disable turn on/off buttons”, “Disable substitution profiles”, “Hide Rule Activation column”. Fixed Issues:
Excluding action will now work in the menu which is added to the UWL table header.Current actions in the menu are: refresh, personalize, launchSubstitutionManager, and connectionstatus

Fixed a problem when the description for a item is set to empty Which was causing a SQL error in the log file and a null pointer exception.User may not be allowed to define substitution for certain systems if user roles assignment is used in UWL system configuration . This problem has been fixed.Fixed a problem when the starting view name in the IView property is different from the first view defined in the Navigation Node. This was causing the wrong Tab to be hightlighted.Fixed the Substitution Status when no AdHocSystem is configured for the UWL.With new KM deployment hook on upgrade the custom xml will be in lower case letters, which may create a duplication of the custom.xml. Current workaround is to delete the mixed case duplicate xml from the UWL administration page.Fixed a problem when trying to display the user name. If a user does not have a last name in the UME system, this was causing a NullPointerException

Known Issues:
No items are displayed in UWL and there exists the redundant radion button control for substitution above the list when there is no substitution assigned by other users . Check the following:when selecting the right most radio button (’All Items’), the items appearif SSO SAPLogonTicket (with or without reference system) is used
If yes to the above, this is a known issue with the connector framework and can affect up to SPS 12. Refer to note 1020669 for a fix for this problem.

NetWeaver 2004s SPS 10
Enhancements:
Added the Alert categories subscription feature.Added the Overview mode, which existed in the older version of the UWL (EP 6.0 & Netweaver 04).Added the support for BAdI for certain Business Workflow substitution methods. Administrator now has the option to do additional check by including their own coding in the backend system, provided the system has the appropriate support package. Refer to note 977069 for more details.When a new system alias is added to the UWL and the system is connected through another active system alias, the added system will be inactive, and all configuration groups and user roles will be merged into an active system alias connection.

Fixed Issues:
Changed the resubmit screen to no longer allow entering a date string, the user now must use the date selector. This was done to avoid getting unknown date parsing errors.Fixed a problem with Attachment links (type action) in the Alert Preview. The links were not doing anything when selected.Business object link is not displayed correctly due to the existence of multiple delimiter character ‘$’ in the object key. The object key appears to be truncated in the generated object link. This issue has been fixed.Removed “create task” button when no adHoc system or connector is registered with the UWL.Fixed the first parameter/value pair passed to the target using the ObjectNavigationLauncher. A workaround before the fix is to use a dummy first parameter/value pair.Fixed AlertConnector to be able to connect to 620 backend.Fixed the encoding of the parameters passed as URL parameters (use UTF-8). Known issues:
Up to this release, if extra object attachment is displayed in UWL (which is not present in Business Workplace display), and, if troubleshooting in the backend system for FM ‘SAP_WAPI_GET_OBJECTS’ also returns this extra object, then refer to note 1004830, not a UWL problem.Up to this release, if system is set up to be SAPLogonTicket plus the user of reference system and user mapping, backend user id may not be converted to portal user id correctly for the non-reference system(s). Symptoms may include bizarre duplicated substitution rule display, invalid user value display in UWL. Refer to note 1004116, not a UWL problem.

Fixed Issues:
On upgrades using the new KM deployment hook from SPS09, the custom xml file name will use the orginal name (case sensitive).Fixed a problem where the IView property to turn off the search input was not working. See Note 1038510 for patch.Fixed a problem when the UWL Overview page is used with only one top level navigation node defined in a custom xml file. This was displaying an empty page. See Note 1040425 for the patch

Known issues:
If upgrading from SP09 or SP10 any uploaded custom xml files using the KM Deployment hook will be in lowercase, which may show duplicate custom xml files in the UWL. Current work around is to delete the lowercase duplication from the UWL admin page.

Fixed Issues:
The system alias length has been increased from 25 characters to 50 characters.Fixed a problem where the IView property to turn off the search input was not working.Fixed a problem when the UWL Overview page is used with only one top level navigation node defined in a custom xml file. Fixed Issues:
The ABAP BOR attributes were not retrieved when the object key was coming from the webflow container.The AdHoc object attachments are not visible in the UWL when an item is retrieved via the delta pull.The UWL workitem displays only the first attachment. This happens when attachments for different object types are created with the same key.Setting the width on a display attribute did not work.

NetWeaver 2004s SPS 14
Fixed Issues:
Global action disabled if there is no items in the UWL table and the action is defined for all item types.If a UWL View is defined in more then one navigation node, caused the first navigation node to get focus even when selected from another navigation area.Fixed user conversion to upper case for user ids containing special characters like ?’Cancelled’ status of tracking items from business workflow is no longer mapped to ‘in progress’. An additional filter for cancelled items is created. Refer to note 1076816.
