SAP EP – Netweaver Portal

Symptom

A fatal log entry is logged during KM shutdown.

Reason and Prerequisites

During Knowledge Management shutdown process it is possible that a LinkageError error is thrown. This results in fatal log entry being logged in the default trace file.
Affected versions:
SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (formerly named 2004s) SP 09 to SP 20SAP EHP1 FOR SAP NETWEAVER 7.0 SP 01 to SP 05SAP EHP2 FOR SAP NETWEAVER 7.0 SP1

Solution

The problem occurs only during KM shutdown. As KM can not be started once it is shutdown this error can be ignored. It is logged only for troubleshooting purposes. The normal way to bring KM back to operational state is to restart the Java Server.
