SAP EP – Netweaver Portal

Symptom

In the Universal WorkList, one can open GP tasks that have been collected from a GP System – GP Portal set locally on current system, or remotely on another system. In order to open the task correctly, the uwl.gp.config xml file needs to be configured correctly, otherwise it can result in the error message “PAGE_NOT_FOUND” or “Could not retrieve process instance: contact your system administrator”.

Reason and Prerequisites

Incorrect uwl.gp.config.xml file configuration, OR
After system upgrade, the administrator has not reconfigured those files again, while the upgrade process has overridden previous configurations.
Affected versions:
SAP Netweaver CE 7.1 SP 01 up to SP04.

Solution

Necessary configuration steps:
The correct uwl.gp.config.xml file is attached to this note and should be applied to the system.
In the portal, navigate to System Administration -> System Configuration -> Universal Worklist & Workflow -> Universal Worklist # Administration; Choose the link: ‘Click to Administer item types and view definitions’; Select Tab ‘Upload new configuration’ ; At configuration name field insert: uwl.gp.config; For the xml file – choose the attached one. After that the ‘Upload’ button should be clicked, and the ‘override’ question should be confirmed. The newly added settings will be applied to the system at the next logon.
