Symptom
While using MDM 7.1 SP02 Portal iViews in the portal design-time property editor, you are configuring the Search Text iView “Group-Based Layout” property to “No”, however in run-time, the iView ignores this setting and maintains the Group-Layout state.
Other terms
MDM, Portal, iView, Search Text, Group layout
Reason and Prerequisites
From the Portal Content Development Guide for 7.1 SP02, page 22 which:
“Group based Layout: A new configuration option for displaying the
fields in a Search Text iView is available.
If this property is set to Yes, each search field is positioned above
the value selection boxes. One additional row (for the field name) has
been added, and so the total length of the iView is extended, but the
total width is reduced.
If the Accessibility Property is set to True, then Group-based Layout=Yes is enforced.”
=> If the Accessibility Property is set to True, then Group-based Layout=Yes is enforced regardless of any modifications manually implemented for this property.
Solution
Check to see if the portal user has the “Accessibility Property” set to “Yes”. If so, the system works as designed. (This property can be seen in the portal: Personalize => User Profile tab)
