Symptom

You would like to integrate tasks and alerts from your non-SAP software through the central inbox in the SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Portal.

Other terms

UWL UniversalWorklist
Reason and Prerequisites

The universal worklist initially only supported SAP applications. But now a program is available to integrate the universal worklist with software from third party software vendors or applications developed by the customer.
This enables you to access all tasks and alerts, not just those generated by SAP, centrally. Generic features such as creating custom views, forwarding and executing tasks, and supporting substitution during vacation are available in a common user interface making pro-active support for your task management easier for your complete workforce.
Any customer or software vendor was invited to join the program ahead of general availability. For implementing this as a pilot project you would have needed the SAP Enterprise Portal 6.0 (minimum SPS14) or SAP NetWeaver Portal 2004s (minimum SPS7).
However, now that the pilot scheme has finished, this is available in SAP Enterprise Portal 6.0 SPS19 or SAP NetWeaver Portal 2004s (SPS9).

Solution

The universal worklist in the SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Portal enables you to access tasks and alerts centrally.
