Scenarios involving integrating MDM standard iView with WebDynpro custom applications, often require that save of an Item Details iView be initiated/controlled by the external custom application. For example, a Guided Procedure process, you would like the GP Next Step button to trigger a Save for the MDM Item Details iView, this way avoiding an additional click on the Item Details Save button and also avoiding the case where currently the user may click on the GP Next Step, without saving his modifications in the Item Details iView.
Solution
As of MDM 7.1 SP02, saveRecord EPCF event is supported. When this event is raised by a custom application, and Item Details in modify state, will save the pending modifications. (No configuration is needed to enable this behavior on the Item Details). The event urn is:
