SAP EP – Netweaver Portal

Symptom

You would like to create an ad-hoc task list and use the “Add task” button. You select such a recipient who exactly has the same first and last name like another user, and would like to send the tasks, but it fails when trying to send the task with message ‘Enter valid assignees…’.

Reason and Prerequisites

Pre-requisite: There should be two users with identical first and last name in the UME database.
Reason: It is not possible to distinguish two users with identical first and last name in that particular JWF scenario.
Solution

option A)
The correct assignment can be made in the task list table (instead of the Add task UI) by clicking on the people icon and making the assignment.
option B)
Slightly change the display name of one user, i.e. by adding 1 or 2 as middle name or any other solution. That is also useful because you can hardly distinguish two users with identical names in other scenarios as well.
