Symptom
You would like to integrate third party software with the universal worklist.
Other terms
UWL, Enterprise Portal
Reason and Prerequisites
To integrate third party software with the universal worklist you need to use the UWL connector API.
Solution
The UWL API (connector API) can be used to integrate third party software to the universal worklist.
The piloting has been completed and the API has been released and is freely available. It is shipped with NW04s SPS9 and NW04 SPS19 and example code is available from www.sdn.sap.com.
Although every effort is made to avoid changing the API, changes may be necessary before it is released for general availability.
Any changes will be broadcast via this SAP Note.
However, no changes have been necessary so far.
Because of the nature of integration between third-party software and this API, SAP does not have a complete overview of the scope and consequences of this integration. You are strongly advised to perform extensive testing at the customer site before going into production and to consult with SAP once testing is complete but before going live to check that support resources are available.
